Half a century ago, my father was born. It is so hard for me to believe that my dad is already 50! If someone were to ask..."how old is your dad", my answer would be something like..."ehhh early forties". The time just goes by too dang fast.
I feel really really lucky, because today me and my dad get to celebrate his b-day all by ourselves! Mom and Ben and Sarah had the opportunity to fly (rather than drive) up to Montana and start moving into their new apartment, so its just me and padre tonight. I am really excited!
My dad is the best. We've always been close, but once I kind of grew up and became more of an "adult", we got even closer. He has all the answers to all my questions. I can literally ask him anything, "why is my car making that noise....what do you think of the presidential candidates....who should I pick for my NCAA bracket, so I can beat Cole this year....what is the capital of Maine....what is the weather going to be like next week....why is the sky blue?" You name, he'll have an answer. I love to pick his brain about anything and everything because I know he will always give me his honest opinion. He is super smart and is always willing to help me or Cole out with anything we need.
He is such a fun grandpa, he likes to take the kids to movies and will always be the one to take them outside to play when no one else will. I can't wait to have kids so they can meet their grandpa...I KNOW they are going to love him as much as I do!
