Stand Beside Her and Guide Her...

I must say, I do love this country. Sometimes it feels like we're headed for disaster, but I feel truly blessed to live where I do, even in the worst of times.

We had a busy but fun Fourth this year. We had two BBQ's within 4 hours, which wouldn't have been so bad if I didn't eat everything that was put in front of me. I am a such a sucker for good food!

It was such a nice holiday, you'd think I would have made more of an effort to document it. No such luck. I didn't take a single picture on my own camera that day. But I did play with my mom's new camera (which I am stealing pictures from) while we were up at my parent's BBQ. So while we were there.....

Cole put on an AWESOME fireworks show for the kids.

We ate some delicious food.

And we were happy just doing what we do best :)

(I just couldn't resist, I promise he'll think its funny when he's 25)

That was IT for pictures. I am so mad at myself, because we really had a great day. All day.

We had dinner at Cole's parent's house and again...the food was nothing short of delicious and my cooking confidence was boosted when I learned I can make a mean BBQ pork sandwich. :)

That night Cole and I headed to the fireworks show all by ourselves. We might have looked like loners, but sometimes we prefer it that way :) I wish I would have taken at least one picture, but I imagine it would have looked similar to the one in my last post (same place...same people), so I guess that will have to do.
After the fireworks show, we thought we'd do our own. So we bought Smith's Marketplace's finest and went to Cole's parents house. Cole put on a lovely show for his parents and I and that was the end of our near perfect day. (I say near perfect because of the horrible stomach ache I had from the food overload)

One thing we love about the Fourth is the music. We found ourselves in the car a lot that day listening to Patriotic songs, and there weren't many we didn't love. So Cole, this one is for you....

SO proud to be an AmEriCaN!
