It seems like such an adult age! He certainly doesn't look 28 and sometimes (ok most of the time) doesn't act like he's 28 ....but his birthday came and at the end of the day, I had a 28 year old husband.
We did our best to celebrate for 3 whole days.
On the 1st day
I made one of Cole's favorite dinners complete with homemade rolls and potatoes.

I did my best to include Whit in every way possible....its tradition! She was not forgotten and missed by this 28 year old boy.
The cake was made by the lovely & talented Cheri (seriously you guys, she's awesome) and it turned out perfect and delicious. Birthday cake is no joke in Cole's family (just ask grandma!) and I think everyone loved it. In my opinion it was 10 times better than store bought!

We opened gifts from generous people who love him as much as I do

Grandparents stopped by with birthday wishes

And the ladies may have gabbed about their favorite slot machines, no joke and...I LOVE IT!

We continue to feel super blessed to share special days like this one.
On the 2nd day
I let Cole follow his fantasy football team without any complaints from me, which trust me is a big gift....tell me your husbands are as obsessed as mine is???
We went to my parents house and partied with more people we love. We had another delicious dinner, played some games and decorated Cole in balloons, which I am SURE he loved.

My parents also had his diplomas framed as a gift for Cole. They turned out soooooo nice and look awesome hanging on our wall.

On the 3rd day
I had Cole all to myself and since it was a holiday we had allllll day.
We slept in.
Went to play with the dog
Saw "The Facebook Movie"
Ate at Cole's favorite restaurant
And took zero pictures that day.
We couldn't have asked for a better 3 day weekend. Although it was his birthday, I felt a little spoiled myself since we did so many fun things together.
And it wouldn't be a birthday post without the typical mushy gushy stuff.
Cole, we both know your 27th year of life was nothing to shout about. After a tough year, I wish you nothing but complete happiness in your 28th year. I got through this year because I had you. You got through it because you are YOU and you can do anything. Always remember you are more special to me than any words I could write in a blog post.
Number 28 will bring many changes, more fun, more adventures and much more love.....I promise.
Happy Birthday (late), I love you more than you know...but I think you already knew that :)

Wow a 3 day Birthday Celebration?? How fun! My husband's Birthday wish is for everyone to forget it's his Birthday and treat him normally. I don't let that happen though. :) And yes, my husband is JUST AS obsessed with fantasy football and I. Hate. It!! I feel your pain!
How lucky was Cole to have a 3 day celebration!?! You are such a cute wife. I must tell you, Brady is not into fantasy football, but he is absolutely obsessed with playing Fifa 11 and challenging people online. I hate it and may feel just a little bit of your pain! ;) It's funny, as I read this, I took a little trip down memory lane..I thought of when we were little and how if Cole wasn't tying my arms and legs together, he was tying two doors together so that Sasha and I (or whoever) would get trapped in the room, I thought of the many hours we spent playing in grandma's backyard, cheering him on at soccer games, laughing our heads off together, and him teasing me mercilessly (which he still does when we actually get together!). Happy Birthday again, Cole!
P.S. Sorry for the novel!
